Crystal Reports
I am using crystal reports 10 for designing my reports and i am using commands to generate reports. I am using crystal enterprise for showing my reports. When i export my report to crystal enterprise and try to run it it fails with the below exception
Error Message: Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. File D:\Program Files\Crystal Decisions\Enterprise 10\Data\procSched\BPSAPPDEV1.reportjobserver\~tmp1bb442fbdc87cd0.rpt.
If i do not use command and use individual tables to generate report it runs fine. Only if i use command it fails. Even if i try giving database information once again it fails.
we are using db2 as database. Is there any solution to avoid this problem?
Thanks in advanceHello,
R u using subreports in ur report...If so u have to provide database information to those reports also...
I gave a small code in my last post of how to provide the Logon information to the subreports also..
regards,
Kolluru.|||I am not using any subreports. I am having this problem for any simple report that uses a command instead of tables. When i export a report to enterprise and try to run it, it gives error.sql

Crystal Report Question
So, for example, even if no RED color purchases were made I would still like RED to appear on the output of the report with a value of zero such as an example displayed below;
COLOR JAN FEB MAR APR
BLUE 10 10 10 10
GRAY 10 10 10 10
RED 0 0 0 0
BLACK 5 5 5 5|||I think you need to use Left Outer join in your SQL Query
What is your BackEnd?|||By BackEnd do you mean where does our data come from - it is an ORACLE database.|||If you use Joins then Use Left Outer Join

CryptographicException
CryptographicException "the parameter is incorrect" whilst designing a
report. Interestingly, I removed everything from the report so there is
nothing in the report, including the dataset and I still get this error. I
guess it must be corruption in the RDL. Can anyone suggest where I might
look?
thanksHi,
I get this error very often while designing reports.
When you get this error, Just Save the changes and Close the Project. Open
it again, you will not have the error.
Hope this helps

There are other corruption issues, such as all of a sudden, the report would
stop passing parameter to execute a stored procedure in dataset... Again,
saving, closing, rebooting, and reopening didnt help. I ended up having to
recreate the rdl,
I now establish version control, so that I can revert back to an older,
workable version.

I found that deleting the data file resolve the problem in my case.

CrossDB Model
Hi,
I'm used to AS while designing and using OLAP-Cubes.
Now I have to build and publish several models directly on relational base. So far, no problem with the wizards, every DB got a model with attribs and roles. But the information i wanna analyze, is splitted across multiple databases, where there is no foreign key relationship designed in DB. I have to link the tables of different DBs together by hand and design (or let design :-)) a model across more than one database for analysations.
So how would you build up a single model for several databases?
Hope my problem is understandable.
Thanks in advance.
Thorsten
Hm, maybe with using views which joins the multiple tables as one fact table, and using natural keys where there are no foreign key relationships designed?|||
Call me noob,
but is there a way to define cross-db-views?
|||noob ( ;-) )Well, I am kinda a noob too, but can't it be done by something like this?:
SELECT * FROM
database1.dbo.table1 JOIN database2.dbo.table2 ON database1.dbo.table1.id = database2.dbo.table2.id
I don't know it exactly, but it might be worth trying :-)
(In this case, I assume you're using just one database system: SQL Server)
|||
For sure, you can join across DBs the way you wrote. But you can't save these queries as views, or?
Because views are DB related.
|||Just tried it (in a view) and it works just fine :-)
