Crystal Running Group Total equivilent in Report Services

I'm trying to use Reporting Services Developer edition with SQL Server 2000
and Visual Studio 2003. Net to create a report that already existed in
Crystal Reports 8.5 so that the report can be distributed via email and other
things that Report Services allows.
The Crystal Report uses something called a 'Running Total' field that
summarizes a field and evaluates a value for each chance of the field and
resets the value on the change of a group.
Who would you go about solving this problem in Report Services?

Crystal Reports: Displaying percentages of total qty?

I'm creating a .NET crystal report sales report that lists the total # of each item sold and the percentage of total sales that the item contributed towards however, before I can calculate the percentage for each row, I need to know the total qty of the report, which I don't know how to retrieve.

So a sample report of 500 items sold may look like this:

Movies | 150 | 30%

------------------

How can I calculate a percentage for something like this?

Crystal Reports Viewer [2003]

Hello,

I have a load of crystal reports which have been created previously, and what I'd like to do is print / preview these from my VB.NET application.

Ideally I'd want a form in VB which will list all of the crystal reports in a particular location on my hard drive. Then I'd like to be able to click onto the reports and print / preview them in the Crystal Viewer.

I have found something called Crystal Reports Viewer on the toolbox, but I can only seem to link 1 report to that.

Can anyone help me with this please, or point me in the direction of some documentation which will help me do this?

Crystal reports using .net objects

I am using VS 2005 c#.net, in that crystal reports 10.

In my requirements i have to bind the databse with two data base objests.
With using one object i am able to get that data.

cryst.SetDataSource(cand.GetGeneralInfo());
crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = cryst;

this GetGeneralInfo() method is of type list.
I am binding that list to my report.

Crystal Reports on Web Host

Hi There,

I've built an asp.net application with visual studio 2003. The asp.net application has three crystal reports, they all work fine when i run them on the development machine(my computer) but when I run my program thats on the web I recieve a "Cannot find KeyCodev2.dll or invalid keycode error". Anyway my question is this, the webhost obviously has the .net framework installed, will it ever be possible for my crystal reports to work on the web? Do I need to get my webhost to somehow install crystal reports on the web in order for my reports to work?

Crystal Reports Export Problem

Hi, Im using crystal reports integrated with visual studio.net 2005. Currently, i have a 3 page report, it shows perfectly in the crystal report viewer, but it has problems when i export it.
When i export to word format, only the first page is exported along with a blank page and when i export to PDF format, total 6 pages are exported 3 being the report pages and 3 being blank pages after each report page. I require to export to word format but i have no idea wats causing this problem...any help will b greatly appreciated...its urgent!You could try exporting to RTF, then open that with word...sql

Crystal Reports +Selection of a particular section

I am new to .NET and my first assignment is to make to develop Crystal Reports for an applicaiton.This is a pure windows based application.
I have different types of data to be printed based on the selection in a check box.

Can I make a section added by me "visible" based on the data that i checked to be pritned.If so ,please help me with some sampel code.Visible I mean ,the checked data should be shown after I run the application

crystal reports (the coder way) ?

I have a .NET application that needs to obtain the details of the parameters for a crystal report.

I have written some code, that opens a report into the crystal viewer and the gets the parameter info and displays it in a msgbox.

However, the viewer prompts for the parameters, before i get a chance to get the information and display it.:(

My question is, does anyone know of a way that i can get the parameter information from a report, without the user being prompted for the parameters ?

I have vb.net 2003 and crystal reports v10.

1) how shall I add component of crystal reports in my vb.net?

2) In crystal reports how do you find the number of the days in a particular month.(e.g. aug has 31 days & sept has 30 days). (e.g in vb.net MYDAYS_MONTH = DateTime.DaysInMonth(Now.Year, Now.Month)

3) what shall i do in order that my reports shall be displayed in vb.net while running the program. (i.e If I run the program it does not display the report but if I run the report separately then I can view the datas).

a) the database is in access.
b) it has the database password.

To view a report using code:

1) Add the "Crystal Report Smart Viewer" control to your project (crviewer.dll)
2) Create a form, and add a CRViewer control to the form.
3) In order to view the report in the form, your would look something like the following (I haven't had much expirience with VB.NET, but I'm sure the code would look quite similar):

This goes in your Form_Load event:

When you need to display your report:

i am using vs.net 2003 thats comes with crystal report, i create the report look, now i wan tot set some sql statement on there, is there and where i can create in crystal report and not from vb.net programming code? i saw there is a sql expression field but there is not those, select, update, delete command for me to choose. can you all guide me how?When you add fields to the report, and create groups, Crystal is building its own SQL statement, which you see in the SQL Statement.
So once you have defined a connection to the database, and then selected tables and defined their links, the FROM part of an SQL statement has been created by crystal.
Then when you add fields, they will appear in the SELECT portion of the statement.
When you create a group, this should appear in the GROUP BY clause.

And so on.

If you have some conditions that you wish to apply (like a date range or similar), use the "Edit Selection Formula" under the Rport heading to define what will appear in your WHERE statement.

Having said that, once Crystal has built up this SQL statement, it is possible to do some editing on it to further define your fields. Say you want to add a calculated field as part of your SQL output, in the SELECT statement you might add something like this:
,
(BoxesMade * NumberInBox) as TotalProduction

and Crystal should make that Field available to add to the report (because its data calculated from data already available in the linked tables).

Crystal Report Query Engine error

Hi,
My project is being done in Vb.Net 2003 and SQL Server2000. When I try to access the Crystal Report thru code only I get the query engine error. the Sql Query however works perfectly in Query Analyser.
The Query uses left outer join operation from 4 tables. Is there any way I can overcome my error?

I have used VB.net Application, Access 2003 as back end database.
I am using dataset for viewing crystal report.

My prob is that:

For th first time my reports are taking too much time to show.
But the next time it's not taking so much time.

It's happening every time when i exit the application.

Mayukh.What happens if you run the Crystal generated SQL directly in Access? Is it slow the first time and quicker next time?|||First time to make connection and pull data it takes sometime. But next time it would be faster as connection is already there until you refresh the report

Crystal Report Parameters

Hi guys, i am new around here, so be gentle!

I am trying to make a crystal report using vb.net 2005. When i add a new item to my website (crystal report) i choose "Add Command". I write the following code:

It then asks me to declare @.id. So i write the following:

Crystal Report in VB.net Why Server Login?

I have created a report in VB.Net and use Crystal Report viewer to view it...but when I try to display the report it asked for a login to the server. I am using Intregated Security for all my other db connections in my application...how do I get that for the report?

CathyI've noticed that a report will ask for a database log-in, even if it was saved with data, and isn't automatically refreshed, if the database that the report was connected to when it was created, is not "locatable". I noticed this because when working at home, I would be prompted, and at work, I would not be. If I changed the data source (at home), it would no longer prompt for log-in info.|||I am at work and I'm not prompted when I connect to the same data for my forms...only with Crystal...

Don't know if this might apply in your situation, but, the thread "How to load a database name at runtime" http://www.dev-archive.com/forum/showthread.php?t=288950, shows people providing the log-in info just before the reports are opened, by coding it into the program. That doesn't really answer why, but it sounds like a workaround.

Crystal Report Graph

Hi Everybody,
I have just started to work with Crystal Report(shipped with vb.net 2003) and I am facing I problem in drawing a line graph.I have to draw a simple graph from a table where one column is time(datatype is datetime in sql server) and another column is Flow(datatype is float).Flow is recorded in every minute.I have to plot the graph where time is at X axis and flow at Y axis(no summerized value).
But in Chart expert whenever I select time in X axis(that is on change of value), I find Find flow is coming as summerized value like sum,average etc(but I want simple plotting without summerization).
If I take 'each record' option from chart expert for time column,I find X axis is showing mere numbers like 0,1,2.... instead of time which I require.
If anybody can help me I will be greatful to this group.

Could anyone pleease help,|||Since you are trying to draw a graph between two values, on change of 1 value so X-axis will have only 1 entry for 1 value. Lets say your table looks like this

Time Value

10:34 10.13
10:34 10.14
10:34 9.5
10:35
10:35
10:36

then as you see there are 3 entries for same time value (10:34) so how this will be displayed in the graph since a graph will have only 1 entry for 10:34. Thats why when you choose the value it comes to be a summarized value. So you can choose the corect type of summarization for your report it can be average, sum or any other even you own function. I think this clears your problem. :)
