Crystal Reports Printing from SSL

I have a tough problem in debugging the following problem..

When I try to print or export to .pdf from crystal reports from a SSL certified (https://..) it throws IE error saying file cannot be found..

From normal servers (http://...) it works fine..

Server: windows 2000
Crystal reports 9.x
Scripting :ASP

If any one have any solution for this... please do help..

Thanks,I too have this problem on a Win2K3 using CrystalReports .NET ... Instead of a "404 File Not Found" error, I get a blank page and a little picture icon.

Have you had any progress?|||up to version 8, CR didn't support relative paths, so that might help axisperfect, who didn't state CR version........
The test for this is to try to create a text file to the same location.
If it succeeds, your problem relates to CR.
If it fails, too, then you should look to your web server as the source of the problem.

Dave|||Thanks for the suggestion, Dave.

Oddly enough the probem seemed to be confined to my PC and the local (!) server. The symptoms:
1. Able to view Crystal Report
2. When exporting to PDF (e.g. clicking a button that writes the PDF to current window) , the browser will either blank out or crash (as it eventually did on my computer).

After 2 hours of scratching my head, I tried it on a few other computers and found nothing wrong. *roll eyes* Just for the record, I'm using the Crystal Report that comes with VS.Net 2002.

I've decided to leave it as-is since the problem was so isolated.

Crystal Reports and Simply Accounting - Sub report issue

Hello,

I am having a problem with Crystal reports 8.5 for Simply Accounting version 2006-D.

We have a custom report that is used for printing cheques. The report is made up from the databases VENCHQ1_CSV (header) and VENCHQ2_CSV (detail). In the stub portion of the cheque, there are two sub reports that run. The first sub report shows the first 12 detail lines from VENCHQ2_CSV and the second sub report shows the next 12. We have cheques with up to 36 detail lines and we need to change the report to have 3 columns side by side that show the first, second and third set of 12 line items.

So far, I have taken the second sub report and saved it as an individual sub report then inserted it as the third column. The result is that the cheque prints out with three columns, but instead of the third column showing the last set of line items, it shows the same line items as in the second column.

Each sub report is grouped on the VENCHQ2_CSV.LINE_COUNT field in ascending mode. I can't figure out how to make the third group continue where the second group finishes.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks,

Crystal Reports 9 - end user printing problem

Crystal generates reports based on user parameters from my .asp program. It works fine from all but one users PC. This user prints "chinese" or "garbage" when they hit the print button. It doesn't matter what printer they print to, the screen displays fine, but the report is "garbage." Any suggestions?If it's just the one computer, maybe you need update the printer drivers?

Crystal Reports 8.5 Objects Location Origin

Dear All, I am stuck up with a report printing in which the textfield's values are set at runtime, and the location of textfields are also set at runtime during report generation.
This report is also printing fine on normal printers. But not working on HP 9050 printer.
Usually when we specify x,y coordinates of an object by the location is calculated from upper left corner of the report page. The trend is normal in Crystal reports as well. But HP 9050 printer prints the Report from Right. (Print direction is from Right to Left). So if I have used a different pagesize in Report, and different pagesize in Printer Tray, the textfields are not printed on their x,y locations exactly.

Is there any solution to the problem?? Can we specify left and top positions of objects with upper right corner of page as origin?In such cases, the only reasonable solution is to use a printer driver that works normally. You can't battle every buggy driver in the world. Try a driver from another (older) HP printer, download a newer driver from internet, or dump the whole **** thing into the nearest trash bin. I mean it.

Crystal report printing to 2 different printers using IP address

Hi ,

I using vb6 and crystal report 5.0 version.
There is a requirement to print reports to two different locations (diff.countries) . If I have the printer machine's IP address instead of Printer name , is it possible to print reports based on the IP address to the resp. printers ? Crystal reports -> printer setup menu will accept only printer name and not printer IP address. Crystal help is not having any clue about this.

It will be of great help if you can throw some light on this.

Thanking you in advance,
Deepa.I use CR Version 8.5.

In my VB code, I loop through the Printers object to get the name of the printer I want and then pass the required info back to Crystal (Printer Name, Port, and DriverName). I don't know if it's possible, but perhaps you can loop through the printer collection and compare it to the IP address to get the right printer?

Dim prt As Printer

For Each prt In Printers

If prt.DeviceName = strPrinterName Then 'You would compare to IP address instead

Set Printer = prt

strDeviceName = prt.DeviceName
strDriverName = prt.DriverName
strPort = prt.Port

Exit For

End If
Next prt

Set prt = Nothing

Report.SelectPrinter strDriverName, strDeviceName, strPort

Report.PrintOut False|||Thank you for your response !!

Tried your code and found that this code piece will work if the specified printer is installed in the local machine.But in my case the application will be provided with a Printer IP address alone.Meaning if we go to Control Panel -> Printers option , there will not be any printer installed.Hence the Problem!

Thanks and Regards,
Deepa.|||I'm sorry I can't be of anymore help, but if you find the solution, will you post it?|||I am trying out some options as of now .Once I get the best way , I will post it here.

Thnaks a lot
Deepa.

Crystal report printing at multiple printers through VB6.0

Hello,
I already sent my problem. But, i didn't get any solution. So, i am sending it again.
I want to print a report in multiple printers in networking. How is it possible through VB6.0?
Please help me.
Regards,
RajasekharYou should be able to make a cycle for each printer you have,
and then print the report to that printer...
If using default, you could set in the cycle each printer as default
and print, then step to next printer...

crystal report help needed urgently

Hi, everyone

Can anybody pls help me in finding a solution for doing DOS printing through crystal report !!

My problem is my report has to get printed on a dot matrix printer and on a contineous stationary. and printing in windows based form is strictly not allowed.

I tried exporting the report in text format and printing. But the problem here is all the data exported gets compressed too much i.e. the space in 2 columns gets reduced too much and sometimes some data also gets deleted.crystal report preview is totally fine. Also I want to use Different pitch settings in the same report. I have seen that the lines dont get exported in text file. so i am confused what to do and how to do

Can anybody help me out fast.

Crystal Report Generic Text Printer - Printing Problem

Hi
I am using vb6. Crystal Report 9. I use Generic / Text Printer to print Invoice. It shows everything ok in preview but when it prints, printing goes outside the printing area. I use mostly 10cpi fonts and for figures 17cpi fonts.Install the latest CR9 service pack. If problem remains, use another printer driver.

Crystal Report

I would like to automate the printing of some Crystal reports that I run daily and was thinking about setting up a scheduled task to automate the printing. Any suggestions?

Cheryl

I think you are in the wrong forum. This is for microsoft reporting services (similar to Crystal Enterprise).
